Hello washer friends, I have a late 1950s dexter quicktwin double bath wringer washer. It had a wheel pump when I first bought it but the pump was toast and I took it off and scrapped it and made it have a gravity drain. The one washer lid has a hole in it for the goose neck to re-circulate the wash water, it didn't have any kind of a filter with it when I bought it, but I made one for it and I am in the process of getting an electric pump for it. does anyone know what sort of filter this machine once had? please let me know. Thanks Bill the drycleaner

a good idea , but I invented something different

Martin, thanks for the suggestion. I invented a tubular style filter that is under the hole in the lid and has a nylon bottle brush as the filter. My lady kenmore gave me the idea. I was trying too see if anyone knew what this machine had originally as its filter system. thanks Bill the drycleaner

I knew it had a filter after all

as I said before, I knew that my dexter quicktwin once had some sort of a filter system. It has a port in one of the lids and also had clips inside of the washtubs where something would have been. Also I might ad that mine came with a pump. A few people on the site have shown there machines that are like mine and theirs had a white backet like thing in the second washtub. In looking at lee maxwells site, he has a dexter like mine and his has the filter basket in it. he says that this filter basket was with it when he got it. I hope I can find something like it. if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks Bill the drycleaner
