Had a post on these devices a while back:meant for warming truck cabs, boat cabins.etc.these heaters run on 12 or 24v dc and burn diesel fuel in an enclosed, forced draft combustion chamber.Been using a couple of these to heat a 12v backyard building: very pleased with the performance so far using a Russian made Autoterm 4D- 4KW of heating power and very reliable though i had to partly dissasemble and clean a screen around the "glow pin"ignitor when screen became fouled when i tried a mix of diesel and used motor oil :) The fan motor,BLDC on the Autoterm, runs about 3000-4500 RPM. Combustion air and burner exhaust are piped from outside the vehicle or building,so very safe.Have also used a 2D Autoterm and a couple Chinese made Vevor ones. The chinese heaters are real cheap:~ $125 :)

getting use lately

After a period of "Indian summer"getting more seasonal temps and the Autoterm heater has been keeping temps nice on 2nd floor of the moon unit :) Warm air blown down to 1st floor when it gets hot above.

put to a good test...

was forcasted to get bitter cold temps last night so left the heater on-was afraid the diesel fuel line might "gel up"but was delighted to find the heater still working despite a morning temp of 28* below zero-and heater kept temp at 58* in the moon unit :) Also a couple 50w MR16 halogen lamps were left on to help a little. Sunny and 18 below as I write this at 12:45...
