The following was recommended to me by a competent DW repairman.
Dishwasher Detergent Recipe Ingredients:
Cascade Pure Rinse Powder DW detergent
“Glass Magic” DW detergent
Mix the 2 DW detergents in equal amounts. Fill both detergent cups correctly. Depending on how hard the water tests, as well as, use a rinse agent. This formula is high in phosphate content. Good for machine washing with very hard water.
If you do not pre rinse. And machine wash heavily soiled cookware. I found the mixture of the 2 detergents; yields significantly improved cleaning results. This detergent formula does cost a little more.
Note: You will do well to proceed with caution. That is if you machine wash crystal, fine china and sterling silver ware. Repeated washing with this formula could be too caustic.
