Ok opening myself up for comment from Toggle with that subject line.

Anyways I may be able to get my hands on a GE filter flow set. Very basic washer and matching dryer. Not sure of the age but are harvest gold, great condition and at they are free. Just getting the Maytags all set up I am not sure if the other half will be to keen on another set. What are your thoughts?

By all means grab the GE set, especially if they're in lovely Harvest Gold! Filter-Flos are real workhorses that are a breeze to work on, will last a lifetime, and most importantly, are very fun!

You Have Two Choices.....

1) When you bring this set home, say "Well, I was going to bring two sets home, but thought that would upset you," or do what I do and

2) Rent a storage unit and take everything directly there. Only sneak one washer home at a time.

Jimmy go get them. We all have our hobbies. Every time Todd in New Orleans gets a new appliance playtoy, his partner gets to acquire something for his hobby. It works well and keeps peace in the family.

You'll love them, Jimmy. Filter-Flos are one of the most capable machines I've seen--and their wash action is so lovely (not to mention the prevalence of lint yiblets)...

But I'm sorry about the harvest g--, the harv--, the-- (*wretches*)

Thanks for the support

My partner Dana doesn't think there is a problem with my hobby it is just the limited space - it would be another story if I collected thimbles. Unfortunately no mini-basket on the possible new aquisition. I will probably go for it and then just switch out the sets in the garage every few months.

Again thanks for the support and I just jest about my partner as I could not be any happier and could not imagine my life without him. He is quite supportive of my addiction.

On a side note my parents were just out and Mom enjoyed the Maytags as she does not like using the SQ front loader. The in-laws just came out for a three week visit and I know she will be using the Maytags as well. They both did not like it when we only had the Asko set.

The set may now go to a friend

I was and still am holding onto a Maytag LAT5000 for a friend who was going to put it in his garage, he now may be interested in having a full second set in the garage like I do. Their everyday set is a TL Kenmore Elite washer/dryer pair which is about 1 1/2 years old. When they got that set I inherited his fliter flo which was later switched out for the Maytag LAT5000 because the filter flo had some rust in the outer tub. They never new what the filter flo pan was for as it was still taped onto the mini basket so they thought it was only to be used with that. Do I have to educate all of my friends on their appliances? - LOL!

Anyways either he or I will take it. His girlfriend will probably think I am trying to convert him to a washing machine lover like myself.

I will keep you posted!

BTW. Didn't we discuss once the side of your garage behind the laundry room that can no longer fit a car. (It shrunk).

Can some sets of machines go there?
 
Update

My friend wants the set, we should be getting it to his house in the next couple of days. Not sure how long to have them up and running in his garage as we will need to drop a 220 line to the dryer which will be a lot easier than when we added the 220 at my house as his electrical box is just outside the garage and mine was clear on the other side of the house and had to go through the attic.

I will keep you posted and get pictures as well.

"Food for Thought" can a 110-Volt Circuit be ran off of a 220-Volt Circuit, without causing extra Electricity and Blowing Breakers, if a 110-Volt Washer or a Washer/Dryer is operating, along with a 220-Volt Washer/Dryer or a Dryer? Would the 110-Volt Circuit have to be a separate Line and totally Dedicated to itself, rather than through a 220-Volt Branch-Off Circuit?

That depends on your local codes. Technically, it is no great huh-huh.
But some local codes and ordinances absolutely forbid it, others permit it.
Only your licensed electrician can tell you for sure.
Given the insurance risks involved, I would not even consider having that one done "by a good friend".
If the local codes permit it, then the electrician is going to run it through an extra breaker in any case and - California being California - probably want to do a GFI, too.
I know I would here in Germany (where it is permitted).
