Hey Fellas,

I'm working out pieces to a retro bathroom update this winter. Very excited, out with the 12x12 greenish/grey 2007-blah, in with crisp and clean 50's black and white. I need a favor though. I just found a Nutone Heat/Vent/Light from probably the mid-60s in the restore, but no switch. I'm going to try and get back there in the next couple of days and hunt to see if it's there somewhere, but if not, does anyone have or know of where I can find the wall switch? I'd really like a retro looking one (i.e. not the modern one that I've found on the Nutone site). I found the pictures linked on retro renovation of a near identical vent and it's switch. I've also seen a switch that was just a single knob that turned to the different settings. A friend of mine has that one and I'll have to snap a picture at my next opportunity. :)

Thanks all!

The plate with "fan" and "heater" markings is pretty darn rare...never seen that before and I've been salvaging this stuff for some time. HOWEVER, the switches are known as part of the Despard system. You can pick 1, 2 or 3 devices of any type and they mount to a quick-attach strap. Two straps are used for a double gang box.

There are recessed and shroud-style pilot lights, grounded, non-grounded (polarized, also) recepts. Std switches and 3-way switches. Also, an extremely rare dimmer was offered but I've only ever seen a picture.

The devices and plates are still available and still meet code, but they are a bear to install due to the number of wires that end up in the gang box (code does set a limit on that) if you're working with 12ga and have multiple devices. Some google and eb*y searches should turn up what you need. Around here, the local Menards chain still carries them (new). -Cory

Ahhh, that is SO stylish! Clean polished lines!
Too bad one can't find light/heater/exhaust combination over here, nor I can think to import one because of the voltage/frequency differences!

Classic,
If you don't want the exact switch nutone still sells the combo unit with a three switch-switch. I put one in my guest bath just a few years ago. Works great. The Miami house had two of them that were even older that had the lighted controls. They lasted over 60 years.
