Help Support :

I have just too many to show-no camera-and lots of laserdiscs. Also have some Blu-Ray and HDDVD DVD's and the machines to play them.On my HD capable set the pictures are so good I hardly go to the movie houses anymore.Just upgraded my Sony BluRay player and its even better!Lately I have been watching CSI-Fascinating show! Will get more boxed sets of it.I have gotten rid of most of my VHS movies-now the only VHS tapes I have are "video owners manuals".

I never did like VHS,

The VHS lives around the corner, near the floor, on the Shelves of Shame. (Keen observers will note three seasons of Absolutely Fabulous.)

Oh No! My camera is dying!

On the other side of the fireplace is where the rest of the Beta tapes, the CEDs (RCA Selectovision discs, at the bottom), and the equipment live.

Not shown:an identical shelf of Beta tapes to your right, next to the fireplace.

I still have my Betamax. It's so superior to VHS. I don't have it connected, I have a tiny library, mainly consisting of the first broadcast of spoof mini-series "Fresno" (before they wrecked it with a laugh track for all of those viewers who are too slow to catch onto a spoof) but I can't bring myself to get rid of the thing.

Oh Yeah . . .

Selectomatic, like Veg-o-matic, has a collection of discs and tapes that can't be shown on a PG site.

Holy Hell -Someone else with CED!

I have CED, Betamax, Laserdisc, and S-VHS. I even have some U-matic machines in my basement! I'll get pictures up later tonight of the collection; going to dinner right now.

The only dvds i own are like Veg's and selecto's.. My hubbie owns some non nudie dvds and such but who knows where they are., think under the bed

I still have my Sanyo Beta machine, which I got in the 80's. Still works just fine, too. It has outlived at least four S-VHS machines!

Right now it's all in a sort of uproar. I don't really have enough shelf space to store all the tapes as well as the growing collection of DVD's. Add to that, I just purchased a 1080p 42" flat panel to go above the mantle (and replace the TV armoire blocking the fireplace) and there is be a component storage issue as well. Something's gotta go!

I have only one U-Matic video-a commercial for Royal Dirt Devil vacuums-but no machine to play it on.Just in my collection of vacuum cleaner doco.Other odd "video" items if you can call them that-are 35MM film trailers,a 35MM short feature-"parachute jumping" and one reel of "charlie the lonesome cougar"Have to get my 35MM projector set up to watch them.also 3 16MM films-one on First aid-from WW2,and 2 unknown.Have 3 16MM projectors.also have a Filmstrip on use, history and care of the US flag.Somewhere I have a filmstrip projector-has been thru 3 moves-just have to find what box its in.Will try getting the "Pirates of the Carebean" BluRay discs and see if my Updated player will play them. Before it wouldn't.For folks that have Sony bluRay machines-mine had the software versian "1.06"Now I updated it to the software versian 2.06.You get the upgrade disc from the Sony factory.then you "play" it like a regular disc-and the machine display tells you its finished upgrading.Takes about half hour to do.Just don't shut off the machine or interrupt it while the upgrade disc is running or you will damage the machine.

I need to come up to greenville and take pictures of your stuff Rex.. Greenville is not that far away and my good friends and aaron and cliff are there...

Storage Suggestion

I too have amassed a fairly large collection of DVDs. However, I was getting rather frustrated with the amount of space required to house them all. My solution--DVD sleeves. I transfered most of my collection to Fellowes CD/DVD Sleeves and threw out the DVD cases. Now, most of my collection is housed in a single drawer.
