No Release date in AU
Hi,
I contacted Dyson in australia to ask the same question. The delays for australia are apparantly due to design rule differences.
One obvious one that stood out to me, is that the dyson has a maximum pump head of about 50cm or there abouts. In AU most machines drain into the laundry tub or overflow, rather than being connected to the trap like a dishwasher. The height of our laundry tub is 1.2 meters, so therefore the Dyson wouldnt be able to pump out.
There are other design rule issues as well, so until they're ironed out, dyson dont have a release date.

Taking too long...
I wonder why this is taking them so long to release. It was supposed to be out this time last year, originally. Perhaps there are other defects that they have encountered in the UK that we are unaware of.

Need to see this in action..
I would love to see this machine in action....It looks to me like it would be hard on clothing, especially when a piece gets caught between the (nubulators??) one going one direction and another going the other direction.

Interesting that the animation of this machine in operation only has two garments in it. Guess you can't pack this one full.

Is this the machine that had the removable plastic tub? and you could have more than one so you could use them as hampers?

No, this is not the machine with the removable drum. That was the Titan that Chestermike was able to purchase before it was taken off the market. There are pictures in his Yahoo photo album, the link will take you there.

I think there were problems with the reliability of this machine.

I have heard they are having problems in the UK with the units so plans to import are now on hold

Living in the uk I have had very little good reports about the Dyso contrarotator. It claims to wash better and faster using the 2 drum reverse, when infact only a small portion uses the reverse drum action. In most peoples opinion it is over priced (@ nearly £1000, you'll have to work it out in dollarS!!) but its wash performance in no better than cheaper machines. There is also the factor of the 2 motors and very complicated gear box to take into account. The titan monotub was withdrawn for further testing after electrical and mechanical faults were reported.
