Early Frigidaire washers model numbers and years

OK, I realize this is just kind of a geeky exercise, but I have been going through some old Frigidaire service literature today and am trying to match up the early year's model numbers with years of production.

I did a search to see if anyone had posted a "chart" or list of this stuff and came up with nothing. So...this is what I "think" I know so far.

1947: WJ-60 & WJ-60A
1948: WK-60 & WK-64 (only difference being the timer and fill valve insert)
1949: WL-60 & WL-64 "
1950 & 51: WO-65
1952: WO-65-2

Then I have no information until...

1955: WV-35 (first Pulsamatic) and the unimatic model was?

After that it becomes rather predictable from 1956 through 1958
1956: WS-56 (Super model, Pulsamatic), WD-56 (Deluxe model, Pulsamatic), WI-56 (Imperial model, UNIMATIC)
1957 was identical (the iconic "control tower" model year)
1958 saw the addition of a "Custom Imperial" model in addition to the "Imperial" (both unimatics) and the introduction of a true "suds-saver" system.

Then in 1959 all "home" production machines employed the "Multimatic" transmision and there was the further addition a "Custom Deluxe" model in addition to the "Deluxe" model.

So, can anyone make corrections to what I have above and/or fill in the 1953-55 information?[this post was last edited: 4/23/2012-18:58]

I think that the 53's & 54's are also WO-65-2, but I'm not sure. In other words, I have a WO-65-2, but I can't know if it's a 52, 3, or 4.

Yes the 53-54 was also WO-65-2

 

I think the 55 unimatic was WV-65

 

Once you understand them the 60's codes are pretty easy to figure out too.

Bigger bite than I thought.....

Two months ago Mark said he wasn't interested in Frigidaire washers.

One month ago I literally watched him transition from non-interest to interest while playing with my 65 Custom Deluxe.

Last night at dinner he admitted he has been bitten by the Frigidaire bug.

Now we need to add one to his collection!!
Best to give in and admit we are helpless over this hobby!

Am I trotting down the primrose path that is the usual progression of "the disease"?

I admit that I am powerless over the pulsator, the solid tub, and the rapid-dry spin.
Where can I find a 12-step program....
MN is the land of 10,000 12-step programs, isn't it?
The Maytag just isn't giving me the "fix" it used to.....

Even if there's justy one Frigidaire at as wash-in, everyone eventually gravitates to watch IT. I noticed taht Saturday night--between the Frigidaire and the SpaceMate.

I would like to see a chart with all the model numbers, differences and years of productions of washers and dryers through the 1960's and 1970's as well... I think it gets complicated in the sixties as the number of models increased with those with an "A" suffix, others with completely different model numbers like "Gold Crowns" and all the later variations of 1-18 washers...

And I'd be curious to see the models and model numbers produced in Canada too...

1952, 53, 54 Unimatics

As I remember the 1952 & 1953 models were identical with the pulsator being metal with the "Salt Shaker" holes for the soap to come out - In 1954 they went to the solid black plastic with only the 2 slit holes. This is the machine that I have.
They were all Model # WO65-2 with the cabinet all looking the same.

My oldest UniMatic is a 1954 model that has the plastic agitator soap dispenser that I converted back to a WO-65 double deep rinse machine by installing and older timer and timer dial.

I think it'd be a great public - at least to the Firgidaire "public" - service to see model charts to the end of the GM era, I know I find the 70s in particular to be confusing as to the proliferation of models and variants, some without any apparent logic.
