Hey there! Nice looking Highlander - 126 - a non-timed fill unit. I would venture to say that a new motor would fix up the spin issues - symptoms point to the thermal switch kicking it off. This little one could be a real nice workhorse. Congrats!

pretty

love that look its fab.. just finished a 61 and i love it they are wonderful machines and youll love yours too!! id have to guess at a motor for starts too there are plenty of good used ones still around. tags are simple but on occasion they can be touchy. the one i have here was a bitch but in the end i think i have finally won or at least she is running like she should

This is the same generation as mine with only 3 buttons for water temperature. That woman had that washer for 44 or 45 years and she was around 46 or 47 when she bought it. Amazing. Funny how the Maytag logo is not in red. Mine isn't either and I thought it had just faded away. The thing that gets me about this machine is that it has all of the features of the more deluxe machines, but in the cheap washer format.

Nice old classic! Those Highliners are cute machines. Congratulations on saving a true classic.
