I just bought this today, its a MDB9000 IntelliClean. Would this be the first of the MDB series, and a transitional series until the MDB9100 “Auto Clean” button machines? Perhaps a redesigned machine after the whole DWU fire fiasco?

I have a DWU9962 and this has a different sensor than that machine, different pump set up too. Whats also weird is it has only one final rinse much like KitchenAid machines at the time. It will do two final rinses if you select china or sani wash. I almost picked up a KUDS24 last week but went against it when I found out it did one final rinse. I only found this one rinse final rinse when I read the Cycle chart, which shows up to a 20 min main wash and 26 min final rinse.

Maytag MDB DW

Fun piece of DW technology, Yes This was a difficult time for dishwasher engineers as they were trying to adapt HD American DW designs that needed a lot of water to work properly to use less water, the performance result was not so good.

We had lots of complaints about poor overall performance from many customers with MT and even Kitchenaid DWs in this time period that we seldom got on the much more popular KM, WP and midline GE DWs that were not trying to compete with Asko, Bosch and Meile DWs on overall water usage even though those three had much smaller usable capacities .

Seems like the MDB8100 and 9100 also suffer from this single final rinse. Although they give the option for an extra rinse.
