Early Youngstown dishwasher/sink combo

I doubt there are many of these left. Original manual included! It almost makes me want to chop up my cabinets to fit it in my kitchen!

Careful what you wish for! My parents had one for a while in the 60s.
For an early machine it washed really well, with a booster heater tank & fine mesh filter. But the upper rack only held 9 glasses & 8 cups, and had to be lifted out & balanced precariously on the edge of the sink to access the bottom rack at all. Often wondered if the later front opening model, with the horizontal spin tube, might have been an excellent performer.

I hope that the window is low enough that the neighbors could see the lid pop up at the end of the cycle. A spotlight might even be required and maybe a stronger spring.

The 30" wide Youngstown with the spin tube was horrid. Moved into a house in 1978 with one and we swapped it out (leaving a 6" gap) within a month. Had a large plate capacity but poor glasses/bowls capacity. My mom had had a roto-rack Sears in the previous house so didn't suffer a 28 year old dishwasher lightly.

Few people know that it was Kohler who began sink/top loading dishwashers way back in 1920's. Product didn't last long but did lay ground work for later offerings by General Electric, Youngstown and others.
