I made this Pound Cake on Thurs. this week. I'm always looking for something new. Well I know Pound Cake hardly sounds like something new. But this recipe made the best Pound Cake I've eaten in years. It tasted like what I remember Pound Cake tasting like in the 50's and 60's. And bonus is that it is so easy!! I will never use another recipe for Pound Cake again after making this one. It's buttery, dense and delicious. I followed the directions to the tee and had it in the oven in a flash. Sorry I didn't take a photo, but it did come out just like the picture on the posted recipe. And it really is a stand alone dessert. The first night I served it with some Cherry Pie fillling and whipped cream, it was too much. Both David and I like it best just by itself.

Eddie, this looks good. I love pound cakes so I will make this one because strawberry season is coming up soon. We go to the fields and they are small and sweet. No need to add sugar. I will probably slice up the cake into 1/8ths and wrap in saran and freeze for individual portions. Thanks for sharing, Dan

This is an excellent recipe - thanks for sharing!! I will make this in late spring after the rhubarb comes in and I can make a batch of rhubarb sauce, but I'm sure this is delicious plain! Often, the most simple and straight-forward recipes are the best! Look forward to trying!
