For the love of God, No!

Calcium and magnesium are minerals that make up hard water. Higher content of one or both increases water hardness. That is something you *don't* want when doing laundry or any other cleaning with water for that matter.

Where water is hard persons or businesses spend vast sums installing systems to remove said minerals. That and or modern detergents and laundry boosters contain all sorts in aid of combatting hard water. So why then would any rationale and sane person add *more* magnesium to wash water?

Some of these content creators ought to be lined up and shot for what they put out.

Hardness of Water

In scientific terms, water hardness is generally the amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium in water. But in layman's terms, you may notice water hardness when your hands still feel slimy after washing with soap and water, or when your drinking glasses at home become less than crystal clear...

Softer clothes with epsom salt? My grandmother used to dissolve epsom salt in water and put her curtains in it. She then would hang them up on the line the way she wanted them to hang. When they dried, they were stiffer than starch...but they never drooped down!
