So today all my chores were done.. laundry definitely done.. pool crystal clear, mom, my neighbor and my grass cut. I cleaned my moms car out and already had gone to church. Saw an estate sale in a very very rich neighborhood in Niagara Falls New York. I went out to the estate sale with my mother. Everything at the estate sale looked like it had stopped in time .. bout mid 80s. I took a good look around the house . Someone said a man and a woman had lived there . I had a sad feeling about the house as I was going through it there was a lot of old old appliances there . I asked the estate sale organizer what happend ? at the house ? he said this was a summer home the people that owned it also owned two other homes . A neighbor said at one time the house was Beautiful ., and the family as well and kept the home very beautiful at one time... then a tragedy happened where the mother had passed away and everything stopped in the house... so I was very interested in the vintage Sears Kenmore dryer and Hotpoint washer. I started up the washer it filled up but it was very slow at spin cycle I didn’t don’t know too much about the dryer I had second thoughts about buying it but I noticed that the tub inside was CLEAN I BOUGHT the dryer for $12.50 so I’m going to give this dryer a new home clean it up put a new belt on it. I’m just wondering what year this washer & dryer was made .. I’m guessing late 60s for the dryer .. early 80s washer. Can my good friends help on the year these were made. I pick up the dryer Thursday. I might buy the washer.

Paul,

Not sure about the Kenmore - others know more about that one than me.  But the Hotpoint, could have been from just about any year during the 80's.  That console was used for at least a decade.  It's a classic rim-flo.

That dryer late 1960s to early 1970s.  When we bought the Kenmore 800 in 1970, Sears had a sale in the newspaper for a  washer with similar features to the 800, not as nice a console.  But it had sale washer had this  console style with center dial, water temperature and level and a rocker switch for 2nd rinse.  But my mom wanted the nicer 800.
