Hello everybody...thought I'd start a new thread pertaining to everything "Easy". I'll start off by posting an advertisement from a May, 1955 copy of "Country Gentleman - Better Farming" magazine, featuring the Easy automatic.

Please also post anything related to the Easy Spin-drier. Wasn't sure whether to start this thread in the "Imperial" section, as there might be more material on the Spin-drier. If anybody thinks it whould go in the "Super" section, just let me know.

Easy Washer Dryer Combination

This Easy Washer Dryer combination has been at my in-laws recreational lake property for half a century. It is not likely it was used much. It is still hooked up but I have no idea if it works. I don't think we want a flood on our hands if the seals are dried up. I thought this might make a nice addition to your discussion thread. I saw a vintage advertisement that places it about 1956.

Arthur Godfrey

on YouTube search for COMMERCIALS FOR DEFUNCT PRODUCTS PART 6
skip to 4:10 and there is a commercial done while Arthur Godfrey is doing his radio show (live studio audience too). Easy W/D pair shown and a personal demo of the Spiralator.

Easy Washer Dryer Combination water selector

Here is the detail of the water selector you asked about. It slides from Hot to Warm.

Thank you, Bruce

As succinctly and honestly as possible: That machine is to die for.

There are gasoline and tractor powered Easys but I couldn't find a picture of one that wasn't copyrighted. Maxwell has a few, but right now his database is erroring or I'd link them.

Did Syracuse/Easy invent centrifugal extraction? I mean, they've been making 'spindriers' since before electricity was common.

Hi everybody! A junk dealer friend of mine passed this over to me with the wager that if I could make it run I'd pay him fifty dollars and own it. If I can't make it run, I can do whatever I want with it and pay nothing... obviously, I plan to get it running!

I've replaced the dry-rotted drain hoses with new ones, made sure that the agitator and the drier basket both spin wonderfully (and it's such a quiet machine, too!) but the drain pump isn't moving the few cupfuls of 'test' water out of the wash tub. The drain hoses aren't blocked (I tested), so I'm pretty sure it's the pump.

A round rubber belt (I'm 90% sure it's the pump belt) is hanging loose from an arm inside, and I can't see where it MUST attach to something else.

Can someone help me guess what year and model this is? I want to guess that it's a SSK-1. Also, does anybody have a labeled diagram or photograph of how the belt should be installed?

Thanks for the great forum!
