Yes, sadly ours looks that way because:

"If you don't have a few minutes to wipe the microwave after using it, then take a few seconds to cover your food like I do..."

. . ., to the others who unfortunately do not use any paper towels to cover their food, as I'm the only one who does... And usually I can get a towel to completely cover my food... This just must be my one isolated incident...

No offense.

Sorry, no offense intended. I assumed that was from before you covered it differently, not that it always looked like that.

I also have the incentive that my wife would never let me hear the end of it if it wasn't immediately cleaned up! Mom was the same way.

I personally use Glad Press and Seal to cover items reheated in my microwave oven and leave some room for steam to escape, not to be confused with Saran Wrap, I never use that stuff when reheating food...

None (offense) taken...

Ironically the wife tends to be the one who won't cover the microwaved food, even using it for nearly all her cooking... Reheating, too, of which I use the stovetop and oven for just about all our meals...

I'm the Felix in the house, so with the way the home is trashed by her I'm the neatnick to her Oscar, maybe in the one in Sesame Street, though I'm the grouch...

But in short, there's never been more of an odd couple which in terms of that, I think if we had a microwaved food cover she'd never use...

No plastic in a microwave oven ever

We only reheat things on ceramic mostly corral plates or on Corningware, Items on a dinner plate are covered by a soup bowl. If I’m eating something in a bowl I cover it with a dessert plate. There is no reason to use plastic or paper. I figured out a while ago. I’ve never bought paper towels in my life. I use cloth for cleaning and do a load of them every month

If I’m reheating something and don’t want to cover it I just do it in the Thermidor Micro convection oven because it’s self cleaning. If something splatters a little bit it will be clean dock during the next cleaning cycle.
