As some of you know, I've been looking for a Hoover Constellation or Celebrity, thanks to the recommendations from some people on this board that these particular vacuums are great for bare floor vacuuming, unlike my current upright Dirt Devil.

I happened to be at the local Goodwill, dropping off an old Whirlpool stove that has just been sitting on the back porch forever, when I decided I should go inside just for a look-see considering everything was half-off in the store.

Well, low and behold there was a celebrity in there marked for $17.99, so I lucked out and got it for $9.00.

I plugged it in while I was there and it came on with no problem and the suction is really great!

I'm looking forward to using it this coming weekend to see how well it goes up agains the cat's sheddings.

Considering I don't know too much about vintage vacuums, I couldn't tell you too much about this vacuum, but maybe some of you fine people can, such as what year it is, how many attachements is should have and possibly the names of the colors.

Celebrity S3005

Thats the BOL Celebrity cansiter, from later in the run judging by its switch. 1.7 hp motor, 10 qt bag.
Nice cleaner for bare floors and furniture.
The colors are poppy and regal brown.
Looks like your only missing one attachment, the crevice tool. The original tool set was the combo rug/floor tool, furniture brush, and crevice too.
You should be very pleased with the performance of that machine

Another neat Celebrity find.. isn't it strange how they all start popping up all of a sudden. I was using mine last night and it does work quite well, it's not as quiet as the Connie but not raucous either.
You know if you took the motor and stuff out it would make a dandy piece of stylish luggage don't you think ? LOL

Very cool late-model Celebrity III...you'll love it!! The suction and airflow are both EXCELLENT on the Celebrity machines; no worrying about a clogged hose here!! Not to mention those Type H bags hold a TON of dirt!

Interesting that yours has metal extension wands and a plastic hose grip; I had this exact same late-model version a few years back and it came equipped with plastic wands. My yellow S3005 (an earlier version with the "Hoover toggleswitch" instead of the foot-operated switch like yours) has a metal hose grip and 1-piece telescoping extension wand.

Very nice machine-the ones I find here are beat to uselessness. The bodies are beat up-hoses torn and attachments missing.I am on the hunt for a nice one.The vac shop here had one pass-thru he thought of me as he repaired it-the lady owner picked it up.-Don't blame her.He carries bags for them.

I feel like a celebrity!

Thanks guys!

I thought the colors were a little funky too, but then I thought, "Hey, this was probably made in the 70's so the colors should be funky!"

Well, I couldn't resist so last night I tried her out for the first time and I have to say that she really... uh... sucks!

I like how I have control over the suction power, but I don't think I'll me using MAX power too often. I thought is was going to suck my floor tile up!

And may I add that it floats like a cloud! How neat is this vacuum?!

Thanks to everyone who recommended I should a Connie or Celebrity, I am so pleased! Hopefully my Dirt Devil will welcome the Celebrity with open attachments.

You could stick a UT (University of Texas) Longhorn sticker on that orange vacumm and sell it for bank on ebay, LOL.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Great score BEG! I am still amazed how that thing "hovers" when you use it! This is such a fun vacuum, right down to the terrific colour! Now, if only Austin would let me use his! ;-)

Enjoy!!!
