Television wise that is with the purchase of a Phillips DVD player.

Really had no interest in DVD's before but nabbed a virtually *new* complete full set collection of "Jeeves & Wooster". Was thrilled! But what to do as one didn't have the means to play the discs? Well one quick trip to fleaPay and that problem was solved.

Had to reconfigure our entertainment "system" prior to hooking the thing up. This needed done anyway as the receiver (Marantz home theaters 8400) had the CD player (Meridian 808.2), and tape deck (Nakamichi BX 300) all stacked upon each other. Poor guys needed space to breathe and cool down. One call to OFC and the space along with stacking problem was solved.

Since our television is still an old CRT JVC (yeah I've not gone to a flat screen LCD or plasma, wanna make something of it? *LOL*), couldn't connect the DVD player directly and make use of the HDMI inputs. Our receiver has all manner and sorts of digital, and what not inputs and outputs including those for DVD and or DVR, but couldn't figure out how to get the darn thing hooked up that way. In the end merely connected the DVD to the VCR's "edit" inputs/outputs and there we are, was like kippers and marmalade.

So have been enjoying nightly viewings of J&W and am that well please. What ho!

Hope you enjoy many viewing hours with your new gizmo. There is really no sense in rushing to be the first with new technology, so I think it was smart to wait until they worked out all the bugs.

I only have two lcd/led tvs at my house. One is a small 30" inside a cabinet in the kitchen. So whoever is cooking can watch tv. The second one is on the back patio wall outside and its a 42". A CRT tv would be way to heavy. The tv in my livingroom is a 1959 Magnavox b/w console. The one in the den is slightly newer and in color.
