seen on the news earlier today that an inactive westclox factory burnt up today
-arson suspected....cheap ac powered electric clocks of the type that westclox and
a few other U.S. companies made seemed to have dissapeared from stores around the
early 2000s...
 
That's a shame. They used to make really really good AC clocks.

One thing I really like about AC clocks is that if you watch them around midnight, they'll slow down or speed up a bit because they frequency of the line will change slightly to synchronize with other parts of the power grid.

That and they would keep absolutely remarkable time, nearly as good as an atomic clock if it was built right.
 
I forgot about that factory

I completely forgot about that Westclox factory until it burned the other night.
Trivia: Nearby ELGIN Illinois was named after the Elgin Clock Company.
Trivia: There are no towns in Illinois named Telechron :)
