Hi guys. Well here it is. Albeit not very good pics. Collected my Hoovermatic De luxe T5054 this morning from a guy in Northampton. Said the pump wasn't working but i got it home at 11.45 and by 12 Well the pics say it all. Think he just didn't know how to use it. So now its in bits in the kitchen as was owned by his 95 year old mum and didn't do much cleaning of the machine when she finished.
Yay! Si

It looks in great shape. Love the powerful water turnover in the pic. Have you tried the auto rinse yet. It's just missing the genuine drain hose. So jealous i want one!

Yep - was my copy!

Hi Si.

Glad to see that all seems to be well and certainly looks to be in good condition.
Always nice when things go according to plan.

How old has it turned out to be?

Dug out the instruction manual and took some piccies of it for you. Not that you will be needing it, but always a useful reference tool.

Here you go...

This is the fianl page of the english section of the instruction manual, so you arent missing anything after this - unless you want to read it in Norwegian :-)

Hope it proves useful and if you do need any servicing information - just let us all know and someone will oblige.

Paul

Hi guys.
Yes Love the old Hoovermatic on ebay would buy it but its quite a long way from me. Much as id love it though.

Hi Paul.
Hey thanks very much for the manual print up.Always good to read. And YES I used the Auto rinse. Worked Very well actually. Couldnt belive how fast i could wash and rinse a load!
Have my new Hotpoint front loader on at the mo.Started a wash at 9.20 tonight. and its still on the main wash!

Hey Paul
What servicing should I do to the machine then? Any bearings to oil or belts to tighten or do the belts have self tentioners?
Btw the strip of metal that covers the join between the tub and spinner with the rinse hole in needs re-gluing. Apart from that it goes well.

Hi Tom.

servicing

Great machine there Si, as you say the belts pretty much look after themselves, and you'll know if the spinner belt needs tensioning because you can hear the motor start up and then the spinner catches up as if there were a clutch, it should just run up to speed quickly. Its this fast acceleration that makes the autorinse much faster than the hotpoints, your not waiting for the spinner to power up via the clutch.

Always worth greasing the pulsator bearing, and if you feel inclind I would strip the pump down and grease the impellor bearing to, otherwise its more a matter of dealing with any faults as they may or may not arise.

Anyway, I can just imagine your other halfs face when he get in the kitchen and it's all in bits, with no understanding of how much enjoyment your haveing, all the best with the external restoration and servicing

Mathew
