Haier
Haier aquired F&P.
As they had no own FL platform or dryer platform, Haier just used that chance to make more money out of the F&P brand.
The TL redesign happend around the same time, which I suppose was made so that Haier could produce the contols on their production lines. Haier controls are pretty decent, and luckily, they did not touch the TL wash system (much).
F&P and Haier were cooperating on their direct drive (only true Smart Drive) designs for years already AFAIK.
The FL is a platform sold around the earth, literally, and is a pretty decent performer, while generally durability is questionabel.
One great thing is the flexibility, speed and performance of the cycles. Every cycle has its right to exist (no copy-paste cycles here), and most of them are verry usable.
Plenty of options avaible on plenty of cycles.
Quick cycle times (most anything can be done in a hour) and the Vortex wash does a pretty decent job at what this washer needs.
Good extraction and (for a 24" machine) decently sized drum.
The main culprit however is that the tub is a direct clone from most other standard depth Haier machines and these are known to have bearing issues pretty early and pretty frequently.
I don't think the tub is actually welded together, but parts are beyond expensive and Haiers service is VERRY BAD.
There are several videos up; I can high recomand Daean's washer video channel (see link).
The dryers are verry "meh": The vented and condenser versions run way to hot, and the heatpum versions are slow AF.
