Well, Rich drove over to Lancaster while I slept in. And what were some of the things he found for different rooms of the house? First, the kitchen.

I never seem to find treasures this nice.  Some people have all the luck!  Congrats Rich, super nice finds btw.

We have some great flea markets in the area. I find that you have to go often and early to find the goods. I found all of these items at one persons booth. I couldn't NOT buy them for $2 per piece

"Fire-Proof (Asbestos) Iron Rest" (WARNING: IRON REST MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF ASBESTOS!)

One might want to be careful not to let that flap in the breeze, or take a deep breath with your nose pressed firmly on the iron rest, or else you might regret it in 40 years time... 

 

I also wonder how a thin layer of Asbestos would stop the paper underneath getting hot enough to catch alight... Oh the marvels of the 20th Century!
