Rare! Could be made as early as 1927...I am unsure of the age or the functioning of it.

Your Freezer:

Appears to be what used to be called a "dipping cabinet," where tubs of ice cream sat ready to be scooped from when a customer wanted an ice cream cone or sundae. The individual lids were so that only the flavor being scooped was exposed to warm air; the rest remained covered and chilled. These used to be seen frequently in drugstores back in the days when drugstores had soda fountains.

Yours appears to be from the '40s or early '50s, judging by the Frigidaire logo on it; the 1927 date you mention might be a patent date. Patent dates only tell when the patent for a product was issued; the actual product might be made many years afterwards.

Since not too many people have a desire to have one of these in their homes - and since it would be difficult to get this unit into a condition where a health inspector would pass it in a public eating establishment - selling it is going to depend on finding the right person who really wants one. I wouldn't dream of advising you on price, except to say it's "worth" whatever you and a buyer agree on.

Thanks danemodsandy for the info! I feel betterknowing more about it! Yes it is a dipping kind as each door opens on it's own. It is really neat and thought someone out in the world may be interested!
