The amount of information that can be gleaned from these archaeological sites is just amazing. Omnivores, likely social patterns, etc. What will they say about us a million years from now?

Local tv covered "Ardi" here as well, it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the schools. No Adam, no Eve, no serpent. I think "Ardi" is an Amazing find. TV mentioned they were probably monogamous and used stones as utensils for food prep. alr2903

It has been argued before

that the main difference between humans and chimps is our (by 'our' I mean humans) ability to cooperate.

If, indeed, one is not making too much soup out of one oyster, the fact that roughly 17% monogamy is constant in the human species over time, this could be reflected in the blunting of the canines.

Or not. That's the danger with armchair archeology...
