I've decided it's time to part company with my big door GE dryer.  At heart Im a Frigidaire guy, and I only have so much room to work with.  The GE has worked fine up until about 3 wks ago when I was checking a load that was drying in it and when I shut the door back all the power went off to it.  I really don't have the initative to look into it any further and I want to pass it along to someone who may appreciate it more than me.  First come first served, free of charge, all you gotta do is come pick it up.  Anyone interested please let me know

gas or electric?

and is there anything special about it especially that it has such a big door?

BTW, that Red machine in the picture is gorgeous!

You can always tell if a GE dryer of the filter flo era is g

the gas models have an access door for the burner in the lower right hand corner of the cabinet front. Sometimes this panel has little slotted vents in it sometimes it does not.......PAT COFFEY

if only you were closer!

We had a GE dryer in edged coppertone back in the early 70's and it was not quite the feature loaded model like yours seems to be and it was gas. It performed without flaw for many years. I rememebr having to clean out the thermostat housing inside the lint filter duct as they would fill with lint and throw the drying temps off from time to time, but it lasted nearly 20 years before anything major went wrong and that was the rear drum bearing that disintegrated. It was an easy fix even for a novice like I was back then.
IIRC, the gas model dried fast and had a big drum too. I wonder if this would outperform our Maytag Dependable Care Quiet Plus machine we have now?
BTW, how wide is it and do you have any close ups of the control panel?

How soon do you need it?

I'm down in Columbia, SC  and it would not be a long drive for me to pick it up. Just have to find a weekend I can do it.
