It's Free. It's Quantum. And these are a great way to dip your toes into the water, if you're running low on your phosphate stash.

I got the freebie sample a while back, and they did clean pretty well in our Kenmore Ultra wash, but they *really* foamed up. Not quite to the point of spilling onto the floor, but close. I have no problem with the regular powerball tabs, they work fairly well as well. I got a coupon a couple weeks ago for *free* Finish Powerball or Quantum tabs *and!* a free bottle of Jet Dry. I need to get that sent in soon, as it is a mail in rebate, but free is free!

It's kinda funny

You mention that, because, when I tried some Finish Gel Pacs, the machine loaded to the brim with Suds, and I have the same machine as you (Kenmore Ultra Wash)

I don't have the problem, when I've tried Quantum. But... Keep in mind, our water is really soft here. So, things can very much vary from area to area.

:)

I've tried completing the form several times over a period of a few days. The little arrow in the lower right hand corner just keeps going around and around and around.
Nothing even happens. Has this happened to anyone else?

Allen,

I had the same problem, but after several more tries it finally went through.  I'm curious to see how they perform in our medium hard water.  I'm going to try them with and without adding STPP to the detergent cup

We got our sample pack today. We used it in our Maytag DW and it did OK. It did an adequate job. We didn't have anything really dirty in the DW when we ran it. I didn't hear/see any foaming.

But I don't really like the scent. It's very women's perfumy smelling. It would probably appeal to women more than men.

I would say that it's about as good as Aldi's Reeva Dw detergent tabs. When we use the next one, I'll make sure we have something really dirty in the machine.

I noticed on the instructions for this Finish product that they DO recommend running the hot water to the kitchen sink before turning the dishwasher on to ensure that the dishes are washed in hot water. Maybe that they haven't heard from that guy on the appliance forum that said you shouldn't do this.

Euven though I see them in stores from quite awhile here in Italy, with the name of "forza e purezza",about 2 months, I just had enough time to stop by and read the ingredients list today...I am surprised anyway.
While regular ones do contain stpp these ones doesn't, I could also see the rest of the ingredients list, really seem similar list of cheap crappy ones,, a weaker formulation. Nothing I would buy, why then? Less chemicals? Ahahah....yes, people eat tons of s***t, drinks, kool aid and every possible food additive or food color etc but they mind for some color in the dishwasher detergent that will leave no trace? LOL......And then you see people buying dishwasher deodorant but do not want it in detergent.... Wordless.
They're even more expensive..... Less for more, who's gonna do that? ... Bah... Crazy for me...
I see them disappearing in an heartbeat down here...... very few would buy them.
Just like I thought...a BS marketing find for selling less for more...Nice try!

I also noticed that the perfumy smell sticks inside the DW. We ran another load today using Cascade Complete and when we opened the DW to unload it there was that horrible perfumy scent left over. It was just a trace, but still.

We won't be buying this product again. Maybe the Finish Powerball tabs again, but not this version.

What's the draw?

I've seen these in the supermarket.  Its advertized as less chemicals.  I use Finish Quantum...2 rinses, no  remaining scent, cheaper than Cascade  Platinum Pacs, everything clean and dry, so why am I going to use these?  I don't get it.

Finish Powerball scent

Scary, I didn't notice any scent when I use the Finish Power&Free.

I thought it cleaned as well as the regular Finish Powerball and was quite pleased with it, but because the regular Powerball is a little cheaper I usually buy it.

For some reason, I just don't likee the new Cascade detergents as well, even the Platinum. It seems like they etch the glassware a little more, and maybe a little less effective on the pots/pans, but they aren't bad.

As far as overall performance, whether my water is soft or hard I like the regular Powerball (not the Quantum) the best of anything and get very consistent results.

However, I am anxious to get some Bubble Bandit and see how it compares. Many of you seem to swear by it.

I just signed up for the sample

but I just now remembered that I have already tried this stuff. A few weeks ago they were giving out samples of this at Costco...It foamed like crazy in my old dishwasher, but the results were good. I don't remember any lingering perfume(ish) smell though. I also tried regular quantum samples a while back, they also foamed. It will be much more difficult for me to tell if something is foaming in my new dishwasher. The other one was louder and you could tell the difference in the sound it made laboring from the suds, but this new dishwasher is so quiet I doubt I will be able to tell unless I open it. But since it's free, it's free. I'm happy with the powerball and jetdry. I wonder why P&G thinks they need to make Cascade Platinum way more expensive than Quantum?
