Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Hobart should have never signed off on that commercial and fired the advertising department. They should have focused on design and why it was superior product to a good percentage of dishwashers from other manufactures of the day.

Thanks, Corey for posting this really cool to see an ad this old for KitchenAid.

The thing that made KitchenAid superior to any other dishwasher in construction quality was the fact that it was based on a commercial machine.

This is what’s made Speed Queen such a superior laundry product today is the fact that they’re based on commercial machines absolutely no difference in parts or construction quality between the commercial ones and the ones you buy for your home.

The 14 series KitchenAid dishwashers were a little bit behind some of the competitors in terms of capacity and washing performance. KitchenAid was starting to face some very good competition although they came back pretty strong with the 15 series in 1964

In 1961 whirlpool had a superior built-in dishwasher for performance because it had dual washes and a heater to boost the water temperature, but it wasn’t nearly as durable as a KitchenAid, which is what makes that whirlpool such a rare machine today.

These are good spots, I remember only a few KA commercials through the 70's & early 80's but they were rare.  KA had a high-end, quality  reputation like Maytag, one commercial touted this with "Next time, buy a KitchenAid."

Has anyone seen this model floating around?  Not sure I've seen any specs or pics of it before now.

(I've seen the KM combo vid show up a couple of times now in another YT feed, glad you're protecting your hard work.)

Thank you Cory for this one...

I like the simplicity of the Kitchen Aid, the set it and forget it of a push button, more than the other makes' bells 'n whistles...

The latch idea does it for me, too--when it's used to also open with the same mechanism and quickly close...

Other dishwashers needed to just as much make their machines as simple, otherwise good that KA didn't corner the market for the oncoming competition!
