Has anyone ever heard of this stove? A Fridgidaire Hot Water Range with a instant hot water feature.
I bet someone out there in the club has one.

I remember the ads, but I think most people did not have a water line near the stove so maybe it was easier to install a hot water dispenser at the sink. The idea was an interesting throwback though. Solid fuel ranges often came with a water reservoir to have a source of heated water in the kitchen. Other times ranges had a water coil on the back of them to supply hot water for the house. Imagine if a house had one of these and a water connection behind it. Years later, after the range was long gone, new people would wonder what a water pipe was doing behind the range.

One other possible issue that led to this idea's demise: Hard water.

In hard-water areas, instant hot-water dispensers can lime up in a hurry. If the works for the dispenser are buried in a range, that's an expensive service call.

I'd bet that the warranty claims for this gizmo added up to a fairly impressive sum.

Fridgidaire Hot Water Range

I always had a interest in these ranges, they were made in the late 60s and early 70s
Their is not much documentation about them. If anyone has brochures I would love to see them.
