Freezer Plans

From department stores were common from the 1950's at least through 1960's or 1970's IIRC. Mother had one from Bamberger's (or was it Macy's?) and it was a thrill as a child to see that truck arrive in front of our house.

It was like I had died and gone to heaven to see our fridge and bottom freezer(Frigidaire in coppertone)along with pantry and basement deep freeze filled to the gills with groceries, meats, frozen goodies and so forth. How Mother Dear got my notorious tight fisted Big Daddy to spring for all this one does not know. *LOL*

A full refrigerator would be a dream. I never heard of this Rich Plan or anything else like it - maybe it existed on the other side of the tracks, in other households....LOL!(your story).

Full Fridge

Don't get me wrong! All that food was meant to last the duration. *LOL* This was the 1970's ya know! We were comfortable but Mother ran a tight ship. Swear that woman could hear a fridge door open from upstairs on the other side of the house from the kitchen. Children were not allowed to fetch anything from the deep freezer unless given a direct order. So no matter how many ice cream sandwiches and other tasty treats were stored in that chest you valued sitting down cheaply if you dared. *LOL*
