I have a friend with one those top load Frigidaire immersion care washers and was not impressed that much at all to say the least.

Something about the washer reminded me of something and last night when I washed my comforters in my G.E. Harmony

it hit me.My G.E. washes the same way when you select that cycle. The machine fills all the way up and the wash plate and

basket locks and then the light bulb went off that was the exact thing my best friends washer works.I don't really see how that

washer cleans all that great if the clothes are dirty. When I wash the my nephews bedding after they have went home

I have to set it to vigorous wash and also pre-soak everything for a 4 hour wash cycle total.I know there is no way

I could get Red-clay and mud when they come back from there baseball games.I have to admit that my G.E. Harmony which

is around 8 years old works great and cleans great also and we have no had any problems with it.I will keep it so I can wash

my comforters and quilts when I get my 1-18.

I have the upper-level Immersion Care Washer and it works fine for most loads.  However, I wouldn't recommend it as someone's only washer.  Nor would I recommend either the stacked washer/dryer version or the lower end model.  Mine has a water level selector (thank god) and a soil level selector (ditto).  Without these, the machine will not clean really grimy loads.

The hot water setting is dumbed-down to about 100-105 degrees.

There is a deep rinse option, but there isn't a fast spin after the wash, so if you use liquid chlorine bleach, you'll have to reset for an extra rinse when the cycle has been completed.

I'm giving mine away to a friend's daughter who is renting a small house in town.  It will work fine for her needs, and she's excited not to have to go to the laundromat.  I plan to show her how to use it properly to get the best results.

I ordered a top-loading Speed Queen AWN542 earlier today to take its place next to my daily driver, a 2010 Frigidaire front-loader that I love.
