Hello, first post from a new member. I've been cleaning up and working on a 1960 Frigidaire Imperial refrigerator, mod FPI-13T-60. I suspect the cold control is not functioning as the unit continually runs the compressor and cools the refrig box down to 20f in a matter of a couple hours (even on the warmest setting). I have tried to pry/pull off the cold control knob but it stubbornly refuses to move. Does it come off in a different manner? Further, the freezer door interior plastic has some major cracks. Have any of the members parted one of these units and now have a good spare? Thank you

Would any of you be able to share the OEM part# for the cold control/thermostat? I haven't had and results trying to turn it up on my own yet. Thank you

It May or May Not Be A Bad Thromostat

How cold is the freezer section ?, if the freezer is well under 0F like -10F to -20F you probably have a bad thermostat, if however the freezer is +5F or above you likely have a much more serious sealed system or compressor problem.

The freezer is easily reaching -10f. I took apart the cold control and cleaned the contacts, not an easy part to reassemble. I'm running the unit to test, but so far I still believe a new thermostat is needed.
