I have several of these. They were an genuine accessory sold by Frigidaire dealers in the 60's.
It was a device that bolted to the bottom of your Frigidaire refrigerator, and had a small hose attached. The hose attached to the exhaust on your vaccuum cleaner. The theory was, when you turned on the cleaner, the exhaust air would enter this device, and lift your 'fridge,so you could move it,and clean behind it.
Neat idea, but I don't know if it ever worked.Anyone interested in one?

If memory serves, Consumer Reports did a Once Over or something on this. I think their opinion was that it did a better job of blowing dust around than moving the fridge.

Frigidaire

This sounds more-like to me of a similar item that my Linoleum/Carpet Company Installer's had. It didn't bolt to the Refrigerator, but it was a "Bladder" type of flat pliable item, with a Shop Vac attached to it for blowing it up. It would "Glide" the Refrigerator around to get it out of the way for installation of new Floors, or Carpet, wherever the Refrigerator was located. They had to open the Doors of both the Lower and Upper parts to get the Unit to go thru the Dining Room door, to move it out of the Kitchen, for my Installation. That was the first time I ever knew about anything like that to move Refrigerator's out and about.

Are the item's that are being described above, actually supposed to actually only lift the Refrigerator to allow cleaning our from underneath it? They do have out on the Market now a long Brush, that you can bend to go around items under the area needing to be cleaned out. Actually if any of you Guy's have seen the Harriett Wright Mail-Order Catalogue, they are available thru it. I don't remember for sure how much they cost {plus shipping} but I'm thinking about $12 or $14.

Peace and best to everyone, Steve

Sounds like an air-cushion dolly. Could also be used for moving other heavy stuff around, for example furniture, with the right adaptor or framework.

Could you post a few pictures? And how much do you want for them? I might be interested in one of these.

Yes-as a vac collector one of those devices sounds interesting.Doesn't sound so far fetched though-"sanding" tables use an air blast from the exhaust of a Shop-Vac to levitate large heavy boards-than you use the suction of the vac to hold the board down and the air also collects the sanding dust.Rainbow includes a long tube like attachment for their vacuums-fits others too-that can clean under a fridge or other appliance-fitted to the exhaust of the vac it can inflate ballons or other items.
