Hey fellas,

It's about time to replace the oven thermostat in my 1950 Frigidaire RM-10 electric range. So that said, I need some pointers...

a) Does anyone have a part number that I can use for reference?
b) Any ideas on where to find what I need (other than the craigslist/ebay)?
c) Any advice for a first time thermostat replacer

Thanks fellas! Note, I may not get to this until the summer, but I figured I should start looking for what I need now.

I have the service manual for the RM series ranges. Unfortunately, there are no parts numbers listed for the oven thermostat of the RM-10. There are wiring diagrams if you don't have those. Most of those thermostats were either Wilcolater or Robertshaw. I can post the relevant pages if you would find that helpful.

Thank you! I have one more question. Combo52 suggests that I may be able to just adjust it since it's off by about 50 degrees. Do you (Mark), John, or anyone else, have any suggestions on how I do that? First time questions. :)

dumb question

How do I get the knob off? I tugged a little, but I didn't want to force it. I was given one off a parts range and it looks like the insides broke during removal. I want to see if I can adjust it, before I look into ordering a new one just yet.
