Below is a pic of the drain on my 1962 Canadian made Frigidaire "built-in" spin tube DW that I acquired about a year ago. My question is the opening aiming straight down from the pump is about 1 5/8 in diam. when you take off that metal plate that I am holding in my hand slightly to the left......... How do you attach a drain hose to this ?? Is there some special "fitting" or piece that goes inside this and gets "pinched" or held by the silver/metal plate ?? Also, the fill has an ext. thread (see below drain to left)being 7/8 diam. (big ?) so I was looking for a int. 7/8 to a ext. 3/4 threaded fitting so I could hook up to the laundry tub with a washing machine hose to manually use it. I could not find this type of fitting anywhere so far. Any advice/help is greatly appreciated.

I have a plastic elbow from a garbage disposal that has a lipped end that measures about 1 3/4" that might go through that silver plate and up against that rubber diaphram????? Or a flexible plumbing fitting that is used to line up a disposal with sink plumbing. It is an accordion type pipe with same size lipped outlet on one end.

As far as the hot water inlet, can you remove that adapter fitting and go right to the threaded end of the valve itself? Looks like it was soldered in place.

Thanks Greg!

Greg, I was trying to figure out a solution for your drain fitting (since I could check it against my dw), so I stopped by my friendly neighborhood dealer.... and I found (instead) a Compact 30 stainless steel range! Its not in bad condition, I think it will need some re-wiring and a new switch for the Speed Heat burner. The Compact 30 is my 2nd fav Frigidaire range (after the Flair). Also, that fitting should be able to unscrew from the valve; I keep a few portable dw valves available so I can replace it and use a washer hose. SteveD
PS... I did figure out a fitting for the drain valve....

Steve, got your email and just read this post ....... thanks, I will probably ask you more questions whereas I am not totally familiar with the terminology you have used above :)
