I have started redoing my Jet-cone and have some question about the rollers and cleaning them?I downloaded the manual

and have watched the machine wash and it does work perfect.It tells you over and over not to oil things in there cause they 

can get to the rollers and that I get but, it gives codes on oil to the agitate shaft and the other things that might need some.

I have always used Honda Automatic transmission fluid on machines that I have worked on it protects plastic and also is

the best lubricant I have seen when it comes to friction and also protects the rubber seals and things.It does say to use 

porcelain cleaner on the steel rollers and then use lighter fluid on the urethane and the steel ones  to clean that off.That does not tell me much cause there are so many

different types of cleaners out there.I would really appreciate any advice folks until I get another one cause I always have to

have two or three I don't want to ruin something..
 
Hey Wes, what you read is absolutely correct.  Do not oil anything in there.  I've always just used lighter fluid or alcohol on all the rollers to clean them as a part of periodic maintenance.  The spherical bearing in the agitate shaft contains some oil impregnated wicking material.  There is very little oil in there.  There is a special procedure for rebuilding the spherical bearing in the agitate shaft but this is rarely needed.  I have seen a few cases where a well intentioned but mis-informed repair person tried to put oil in the bearing.  Over time this oil slings up into the clutch with the agitate motion, then excessive slippage occurs when the clutch engages, cooking the oil and eventually turning it into a goop that locks up the clutch, preventing natural slippage and throws the motor into overload protection.
 
Yes clean the rollers carefully

and only if they have burn marks otherwise leave them alone. As for the bronze bearings in the spin and agitate and the spherical bearing, ONE DROP onto the bronze with TUF-OIL will be sufficient for years. The spherical bearing actually sits in a Delrin bearing and so barring water intrusion or flooding should be good for years.

 

Also the bolts holding the rollers to the frame are screwed in with lock-tite each time, do not over tighten to the point where the aluminum clamps restrict the rollers.
