Front control panel & rear panel for 1982 Kenmore non-suds washer

Hi everyone,

I have a 1982 Kenmore automatic washer model 110.82263110 that needs a cosmetic restoration BADLY, and I'm going to tackle it as my first project. When I ordered the necessary parts off of Sears.com, they didn't have the front control panel (cycle settings, water temp/level diagram, etc.) and rear panel due to unavailability. These parts are in the worst need of replacement and so far, I haven't been able to find them anywhere.

So I'm sending a plea to all of the members: If any of you see these machines and the front and rear control panels are in decent shape, please let me know at [email protected]!! Here's a picture of what the front panel should look like.

Thanks; this one will work! I currently only have 3 water levels and no warm rinse on mine so this will also be sort of a "step up". Same number of cycles though; I think I'm going to use the current timer and keep this one just in case.

Plus it's off of a "70" as well and the 70's styling is MUCH better.

Yep,everything's there,you could plug it in and go! It looks faded in the picture,but it's just dusty from sitting on a shelf.EMail me a shipping address.

Some of these control panels have slightly different wiring. Some had an off balance swith. If they aren't the same IE both have off balance switches, the body wiring will have to be changed too. Also, the timer and pressure switch must be for the same capacity machine. If a control panel made for a standard size machine is put on a large capacity machine, the drain won't be long enough it will start to spin and stop and start the spin again until it is empty. And if the pressure switch is for a standard capacity and you are putting it on a large capacity machine, the machine won't fill enough.

I was always told on WP,and Kenmore consoles,that if the wires in the plug are the same color,and in the same position,between the two,that they will interchange.Any truth to that?

Fixerman has some good points. You definitely want to get hold of a console that has the controls for your size machine. If you are use this as a rule of thumb and check the wiring, you should be ok. My Whirlpool, LA7800 lg cap machine, when I acquired it, for some reason had the console replaced with a kenmore lg cap machine console. The kenmore console had just been plugged in with no modifications needed. It worked well, however it wasn't a good fit (the console endcaps did not fit into the slots in the cabinet top). I ended up replacing it with an original LA7800 console off an old broken machine.

The console that Goatfarmer has looks to me like it is for a large cap machine, due to the ex-lo load size setting. However, if your machine is a large cap, then it should work, but you need to check the wiring closely.

After you install the new console, I would test the hi fill, and drain portions of the normal cycle to make sure that the machine doesn't overflow and that it drains before the timer advances to the spin part of the cycle (as Fixerman pointed out).

Also FYI, if you need to change the pins around in one of those nylon wire harness connectors, Radio shack has a pin extractor tool (it looks like a hypodermic syringe) that will easily allow you to extract and move them with no damage.
