That blanket is a pet magnet. My cats would go nuts for a blanket like that..then I would never get them off the bed.

Odd question, but does the bottom of the mixer have any markings on the bottom of the large bowl? I found a strange bowl that appears to be a mixer bowl, but have no clue what it was for.
That bedspread is almost like the one I had as a kid - except mine was RED with tasseled fringe! The good thing about these are, when you tire of the look on the bed, you can use the material to make a fun formal gown for the holidays. With a string of extra-large pearls and a plunging back, it could be stunning!

My late Aunt Eleanor (of the sour cream raisin pie Aunt Eleanors) had a red bedspread like yours, with matching drapes, in her and Uncle Barney's bedroom in their all-electric manufactured home on their farm just outside of Valley, NE. She had her place "done" by Montgomery Wards. Perhaps you saw her in the linen department? You couldn't miss her: She was the one who looked just like a "far side" lady.

Ron (Kenmore58) was up here today for a yard sale, and brought one of these mixers to hock. I sold it for him while he and my better half were at the transfer station (the "TS") looking for more stuff to bring home! Nice score!

Alas no cool finds like those around here-again just baby clothes and furniture(some of them broken)Found only one HB electric knife.Have a small collection of those.About ready to give up on yard sales here.even the church and community ones are no good anymore-those USED to be gold mines for appliances,books,records,vacuum cleaners,-the good stuff-now just BIGGER piles of baby junk-back up the Leach RL trash truck!!Would be great fun to pull the compactor lever and listen to the crunch of the plastic baby toys!

Today I made blueberry muffins with my 1955 Sunbeam Chrome mixer----too bad I got so busy cleaning up the bowls that I ran 10 minutes over the bake time and wound up with blueberry popovers! WAY TOO CRUNCHY for a coffee morning!
OH WEEL back to the mixer!

It's true, Jon, a victim of the 70's I was. I had deep-red multi-level red carpet in my room as well! The velvet was/is nice, but I look better in taffeta - as most of us would.
The bowl I found was a Volrath - it has beater marks in the bottom but I've never seen a mixer with any Volrath SS before.
I found a few things at the sales this week as well - I grab the reasonable percolators to give to all the people I've gotten addicted to them. A percolator pusher of sorts, but never to children! A mid-70's GE and the other is a late 40's Universal. The GE toaster oven is in great shape, looks only used a few times and the willow laundry basket was a steal for only $8 and they are getting much harder to find!

Great finds Greg, looks like the KA is ready to grind some nice fresh beans as well!! I love the GE toaster oven. I got mine down here at a garage sale for $2.00 and have been using it ever since, it makes even better toast than my vintage Sunbeam!!

Let me echo Terry's sentiments. You do have the most incredible luck with fantastic estate sale and garage sale finds. Bravo!
I also love the KitchenAid mixer and Vita-Mix. (I'd love to find a vintage Vita-Mix in mint condition.) At least at first glance it appears to be a Vita-Mix, though I don't recall any of them having a tap. Am I seeing things??

Nice chrome HB mixer, the deluxe with the SS bowls and the timer. Except for the SS bowls the glass HB bowls have something like 3 scalloped ridges around the rim, make them easy to spot. Westinghouse bowls and the GE triple Whip bowls have scalloped sides top to bottom.
BTW Dan I was in Toronto this past week for a few days and found the two most fabulous stores bursting at the seams with all things retro. I was so pissed I'd not taken my camera

They were both on Queen St W. near the corner of Bathurst.
The best one was called iirc Red Indian something or other? and it was on the north side (right side) of the street about 6 doors before the Bathurst corner walking from downtown.
The other was on the left side (southside) just past Bathurst, lots of Scandinaviany type vintage stuff and other things of great interest. . I just can remember the name.
Oh, and further down on the left (south side) 837 Queen St.W. on a corner was a really neat old appliance store, Addison Appliances, they had quite a few old deluxe Moffat, GE Stratoliner, Frigidaire and a Moffat Flair range as well as some old 50's 60's fridges.
Most of those stores along there don't open till 11 a.m. or on MOndays for some strange reason so I took the Queen W streetcar way down to about the 1200 block early and walked back towards downtown figuring by the time I got there they'd be open.
