GE 1991 Catalog

Hi Guys - well, you know I'm NEVER over here in the turquoise! - its not bad - but I prefer the pink!

anyway - I saw the post by impala276 wanting to see the 1991 GE washer line and I happened to have the catalog. I found a bunch of other catalogs as well from those early 90's - Hotpoint, RCA, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, Amana, Maytag, ISE, Kenmore, Kitchen Aide...

I will scan more as I go along but thought I'd share these first...

Let's say thank you first!

Wonderful brochure, I don't think we saw a GE brochure from that era here before. I love looking at all the features the TOL models had.

I always wondered why GE had a different design of the bottom front for the dryer than for the washer. Even though you get the matching machines they never totally look like a matching set. Wonderful appliances though, matching or not.

I sure hope you are willing to post the rest of this brochure too if it's not too much.

One of my sisters in Denver has the 5800 washer - near BOL that replaced a mid-70's Hotpoint, also near BOL.

She had some trouble with the water valve but I walked her through the repair and other than that, it's been a fine machine.

The Spotscrubber system was a very cool feature, it used a pinch-valve to shut off the Filter-Flo stream and a Mini-Basket with no holes in the bottom to keep the water from running out (as normal MB's did for recirculation) and those who have used it, say it works very well.

Thank you SOOOOOOO much for posting these. When did GE stop using the FF pans, and make the other type filter that Hotpoint used? I remember looking at the last of these GE's in 1995 and none of them had filter flo then. Needless to say I was surprised to see them in these pics from the 1991 models.

How well did

the Mini-Basket (such a name!) work? I don't know about it, it looks like something that I would either hate or love, and if I hated it, I would just wash the item(s) by hand.

i remeber those ge's so well,

omg!!!! wooooooooooow i now feel ultimately taken back!!!! so many of my family memebers and friends had these models and some still do. From the most top of the line to the very bottom of the line models!!! one of my friends had WWA9850M MODEL!!!! i remember it and how the lid had so many scratches on it LOL and the speed selector labels were almost all scratched off (it was next to the stove)or maybe melted off they then had moved it to the basement were the basement leaked and it developed rust on the bottom . wow i really just laughing here also remembering my ex she had i believe the WWA8898OM model and theres was in mint condition even though there family of 6 and used it every day, they had theres in the kitchen too but far from any stove LOL and the longest rubber hoses to connect to the kitchen sink!!!! And lastly my uncle and his wife had the WWA5669M model that served as a kitchen counter in there kitchen LOL! it had so many scratches and paint chips coming off the front edge omg!!! and the cool feature i remembered it had in the normal cycle was a "full automatic soak" it seemed to have long cycles (well 2 normal and perm. press) well thanks for uploading it was fun to see! i think i have picture coincidentally of one my friends were im eating cake on it LOL it appears from this era...
