I saw this video shared in the self clean range thread but didn't want to dreail in. But I was wondering if anyone noticed in the background there's a black GE Profile Performance microwave but the range is white and looks like it could be a Profile Performance also. It looks like it could be one of the last GE ranges with the surface light in that little overhang over the controls.

I thought it was interesting they made the video with those older appliances in the background, I guess they did it intentionally.

They are probably Frank's personal appliances

The interviews were probably filmed in his own kitchen with his appliances and we know how older people like to keep things, after all, why replace it, it still works.

I have to wonder if they were so worried about kids in the schoolyard talking about their mother's SC oven and not having it "exclusive" how did every other manufacturer get a SC oven?

Meanwhile, the range shown in the old photo must have 4 burners, but only 2 knobs so how is that handled?

My Mother had one of the first run P7 ranges!  How we missed it when we moved!  It's what I learned to cook on!

Bob!  These ranges had pushbuttons for the burners down the sides of the range.

It's so funny to see such a tiny oven compared to today!

Good use of social media...this was pretty clearly the guy's home kitchen. Everyone who was career GE had one-generation old high-end appliances, just like this guy. I worked for GE Capital; in the 1989-1992 timeframe they were placing the new-design washing machines in employees' hands for use testing---a memo came out and you raised your hand. We also got discounts on everything in the line. As I rented, I only bought a couple of microwave ovens, though.
