GE "Carry Cool" Air Conditioners

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I got one of these from the Goodwill for $4.99 and the bearings were squealing in the fan motor so I re-lubricated it and got it to work. I had used it to cool a room in the barn but it was icing up when left on constantly so I had to break down and buy a Haier from Wal-Mart to replace it. I may try the carry-cool in one of the rooms in the house that doesn't have an A/C.

I still see these for sale in pawn shops, too!

I found mine last year for next to nothing, still working only I don't have the type of windows to hold it. I had it for sale at the flea market on one of the hottest days of the year, plugged in and running and couldn't give it away. I'll just keep it, may come in handy sometime.

I owned the Hotpoint "Porta-Cool" version of this air conditioner for years. Bought it at Target for $150 in 1987. I worked overnights at the time, so air conditioning during the summer to sleep during the day was a must. Ran like a champ. Gave it away to a friend three years ago and as far as I know it is still working.
