Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum. I am 18, and in Canada (on the East coast in a province no ones heard of!). I have ALWAYS had a fascination with appliances, especially Washing Machines and Dishwashers, and I should be starting a collection very soon. My Favorites are the Kenmore Belt Drives (one I grew up with as a kid), GE Filter Flo's and Westinghouse/White-Westinghouse washers (before the Fridge takeover, and GE and WW are tied together), and last but not least, the Maytag Dependable Care series, ones from the 70's and 80's. I am glad to be on a forum with other people who share the same passion!

Anyways, my question is this:
How much room is there underneath the Spiral Activator on the GEs? And how far up the agitator does it connect to the drive shaft? Thanks!

yay, another Canadian member!

Bet you I've heard of where you're from. The GE activator connects to the spline at the very top of the shaft. There's not that much room underneath the regular agitator, however if there is a double activator still available that has the smaller handwash agitator underneath the larger spiral activator. Westinghouse offered a very similar set up on their top end models.
