GE Stove Repair

I have this old electric GE model stove that has been in my house since it was built. It’s in good shape cosmetically, both ovens work, as do the clock, timer, and outlets. However, the burners and buttons are in terrible shape. One set of buttons is completely frozen. The other burners work only sporadically and the buttons are difficult to press. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to go about repairing it? My local appliance repair company cannot locate parts.

I would suggest trying to clean the button assemblies with tuner cleaner if you are comfortable going into the range. GE used these switch assemblies for decades. A service tech somewhere has to have some. You have taken a good first step posting here.

Simple

Take the back off spritz a squirt od wd 40 down each pushbutton shaft not much just a spritz then beging working them until they are free.
