Anyone ever come cross this problem? My senile father is obsessed with bugs running under the carpet. He feels that they are there marching in lockstep since there are always paths in the carpet. Fact is he shuffles his feet and make a path in the carpet, but he cannot comprehend that. He's dumped salt all over the carpet, sprinkled just about anything under the sun that he can get his hands on over it, took a bottle of undiluted insect spray and poured it all over the carpet. Now he found an old bottle of Super 2000 instant car wax in the garage and sprayed it all over the carpet. It's slippery too.

I don't think it's water soluble, not sure how to treat it. Don't want to mess up my good carpet scrubber.

you can try and spot clean to see if it works or not some spray brake cleaner from the auto parts store of automotove solvent that desolves grease and wax
