Condé-Nast announced today they will cease publication of Gourmet Magazine. Modern Bride is being shuttered as well.

I am so sad about this!

If any of the food glossies should fold, it should have been Bon Appetit, not Gourmet.

I've been reading, and sometimes subscribing to Gourmet since I started cooking seriously in the mid 70s.

A Sad Day for Gourmets

Personally, I thought Ruth Reichl was an snob bitch and I'm glad she god handed her hat. Pity that the middle class thinks Rachel Ray is worth anything more than glossy toilet paper, but these are the people that put WCI in business.
