Greg Bushman aka luxflairguy and Kelly Beard aka mixfinder are hosting a weekend of wash, clean, press, bake and EAT! We'll be at Greg's house in Bellevue with lots of room to expand and play. Greg has Meile laundry equipment, Ironer, spein extractor, a cazillion vacuums and super nice kitchen. I'll throw in the tools and pieces is parts box for anyone wanting a mixer tune up. There is room for some to sleep over and local accomodations are close by in the toney city of Bellevue. There's lots of junking haunts as well shopping to entertain the less interested spouses. Feel free to email either one of us for more information.

Save the Date October 9th

You've got a couple weeks to clear the schedule and come and join us for a great Seattle time.

Kelly,

So this is Bellevue, WA I presume? Tony and I will most certainly come. Would be great if we could stay the night perhaps but not sure yet if we can do that. Also let me know what we can bring. Maybe compare Kenmore portable clothes washers? DD vs BD??? Just a thought. :-)

Hey! Greg aka Luxflairguy here! The weekend is at my house in Bellevue. We'll be focusing on small appliances, play with my Miele mangle, watch Kelly and me cook, bake and make a big mess in the kitchen and get to know each other. I haven't a washer collection, but lots of VACUUMS! I'm borrowing demo rugs from a local vac shop so we can spread kapoc, sugar, salt and junk on them and then vacuum it up. If you've a portable washer or two--hopefully a Hoover twin tub, that would be cool!
I've got a decent guest room that will be first come, first served. Available for both Firday night and Saturday if needed.
We have got to show the east coast and California that WE TOO can have a good time! Bring your appetite and any clothes you want to run through the mangle! Hope you'll join us! Email me at [email protected] for more info on directions, etc... Greg

My Security Blanket

I have planned to throw in my Maytag 806 to play with in the garage. I am getting a replacement set that is older and has a matching HOH dryer. My current set is up for grabs.

BD DD BSMD

Jon if its possible for you to bring the portables that would be over the top great! Chat up Pdub and see if he'll come as well.

Greg and Kelly,

Again, thanks so much for the generous invitation Greg. This is really exciting since the West coast members rarely do these get togethers. I honestly don't care if you collect vaccuums, washers, or kazoos! It will still be lots of fun meeting new people and reuniting with those I haven't seen in so long.

Kelly, I will be seeing Patrick and Eddy in just a few days while Eddy is down here in Portland. I'll do some heavy talking to get them to head up to Greg's for the gathering. Honestly, I don't think Patrick will say no and he'd have lots of fun. Hopefully Eddy can make it too. Also, Tony has agreed to help me with the BD portable washer so we'll be bring that too. All we need is an outlet and a sink! :-)

Can't wait!!!

Jon

Get Ready, Get Set

This is a week away from the Seattle gathering. If you have any projects that need to be completed this is the weekend to getter done so you're free and ready to head up to Greg's for the Wash In. No excuses, no regrets, just come and enjoy yourself.

Its Like Waiting For Christmas

The wash, suck it up, beat it down and fix it up gathering is just 8 days a way. Starting saving your laundry and bgin the fasting so there's lots to do next saturday, the 9th. We're gathering and Greg's (luxflairgay) house in Bellevue which just a hop off 405 and up the hill from Factoria. Its time for the Northwest cotillion to shake off the moss and have a good time. Email Kelly [email protected] or Greg [email protected] for details, directions and reservations. We'll see you there.

New and Sublime

From Greg (luxflairguy)

The Bellevue showroom for Albert Lee Appliance is just about a mile away. And I know several of the guys who work there. Why don't we think about taking the group over there for about an hour? They have all the brands we'd want to see, both domestic and foreign.

I'll make sure the van is empty. You guys get the salesman's attention and I'll back up to the loading dock. I might get that induction range before Christmas!

mmmhmmm

look at that gorgeous lux model G!! And a pretty L behind it. :)

That kirby sure is different! classic III handle, sanitronic/500 body. Aftermarket belt lifter, classic iii wheels, and a eureka F&G bag setup. Looks like the vacshop that rebuilt it in the 70s had some fun with it!

Grease Up and Push Your Way In

Yippee!!!!!
Its turning into a full on gathering. No more biting nails over how many will come! It can only get better.

But Wait There's More

Thank goodness for the Portland members. They're coming up in numbers and bringing appliances with them. We're having good response from the Seattle King County group but we could easily spread out into the Northwest corridor. Don't be shy, the food will be over the top, the fun of being together is sublime and the good news is no hot tub or pool so we won't be modeling body beautiful. We haven't even begun to talk about the Eastside thrifting spots.

Wishing it was Friday

I am so thankful to Greg and his partner Lynn for opening their home to the club. It was Greg's idea and I am just flying on his coat tails. The amount of work and planning he has put forth will make this a stellar event. The food will be over the top, the machines are are in abundance and we're set up to go on a tour of Seattle's premier appliance retailer. In case that's not enough their is good junking just a stone's throw away. The response has been phenominal and it is going to be so much fun. Thank you to Greg, to those who are taking the time to drive into the metro area and for Robert who had the forsight to put us all together. The benchmark has been set by Omaho, Minniapolis and Belt Way. I am thinking we're going to hold are own with the big boys.

Kelly's words are too kind! But the excitment IS building! We've been emailing and phoning and getting all of our ducks in a row. We can't wait!! Prepare to EAT, play with toys, visit a premier appliance retailer and share our love for all thing APPLIANCE! I've been saving up sheets and tablecloths so the Miele mangle can get a work out, vacuums are out to play with and of course there is 15# of flour and 10# of sugar so Kelly and I can create a magical mountain of sweets!
By the end of the week, the new roof will be done, the new garage doors will work and I won't have the sound of construction and the mess!
Come on over!
Greg

Wow, so over the top

Greg has razed the roof. His doors will open and close. Can't sugar coat this. And 15 dozen flours to boot!!!
