Sorry for the bad pic quality, Iphones, humph. But anyway, the colors are a lot more vibrant in person. There's a skeleton in the tub, with a fog machine that goes off every 2 minutes or so.

The cat decoration in the window is from the early 90's. There's also a Halloween "christmas" tree in the other window.

The pumpkins are using 1950's Christmas lights, where the bulb is screwed through a hole in the back of the pumpkin. The 1950's lights have 18 inch spacing, which worked out beautifully.

In my hometown, where this is, not many in the "new" part of town, did much. However, there were some displays in the older part of the town. I was one of the few that did anything.

People are always slowing down to look, gotten quite a few comments about how much they like it.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know the lawn desperately needs weedeating but there's only a week left.

The interior is decorated in a mix of new and vintage.

Excellent! It looks very nice. I like your idea with the pumpkin and the C-9 lights. I have several vintage strings with the long spacing and will be looking for the pumpkins on sale soon for next year. I would put in twinkle lights since I have a fairly small yard. Thanks for sharing this, Dano

Hey Dano,

Thanks, and it's actually C7 but C9 should work also. Be sure to treat the pumpkins with some kind of UV protectant before using them or they will fade. I bought a chemical but it did not work, so I'm still experiment.

The light strings were like these

I cut the beads off, filled the plug with silicone to seal them (don't use the safety plug version of these, the "block like" plugs) and strung them up.

Thanks for the info. I also have C-7 lights and twinkle bulbs. I will go early on Saturday and see what I can find on sale for pumpkins. We enjoy putting up outdoor décor for neighbors to see. Enjoy your lights. Dano
