August 8th is a special day for a dear old friend, the Hoover Company. The old patriarch is 98 years young. Happy Birthday, Hoover. "Boss" Hoover wherever you are, God bless for it was his forward thinking that brought this genial piece of equipment to every household way back in 1908! I wish the company long life and a robust future.

Hoover in Canada

Here's a link to Hoovers Cdn operations. They began in Windsor Ont 1911 and moved to Hamilton in 1919. I remember the Hamilton plant when I was a kid visiting my grandmother there, we'd pass by it on the city bus.

Hoover Europe.....

Is owned by Candy and has been since the early 90s. It was sold by Hoover US after the infamous free flights offer nearly bankrupted the UK/European operation. There is another thread on here about the possible Employee buy out of the US company- I wish them every success in this
