I am running out of space, so I have decided I am going to sell my HA606. Before I list it on Craigslist, I wanted to mention it here first.
Actually, I have been working the past few days blending two machines into one. The original – an April 1973 machine, came from Des Moines in September 2008. I cleaned it up, and replaced the water valve, and have been using it occasionally until recently when the timer motor stopped working. Cosmetically, the side and front of the cabinet only has very minor blemishes, but the cabinet top had dime sized dings on both the left and right edges. Last week, I found and bought an April 1976 HA606 donor machine which had a top in much better condition, and most importantly, a functional timer motor. My intent was to interchange the entire top/control panel on the former with that from the donor machine. The donor top had a little bit of rust underneath and around the edges, but has mostly been scrubbed away. Hopefully the double-waxing I gave it will slow the reoccurrence of rust.
Realizing that these machines are still popping up on Craigslist, there likely isn’t much interest among members to buy this machine for the approximate amount of money I have invested. Nevertheless, I wanted to present it just in case. Please email me if you are interested.
Thanks. Mike
