One could do a lot worse for the price. It does not look like it was the sole washer for an orphanage.

Decades ago we were having a situation with tour buses bringing tour groups to our then new 6th floor cafeteria which overlooked nothing to the south and very pedestrian food. Employees could not find seats. A union news letter featured a piece about the situation in which the hordes were described as "families that looked like they were on their fifth Maytag." I have no idea who wrote that, but I found it very funny.

Must be an early 408 or very late 407 (1975). Most 408's have 4 temperature button selections.
