Two Speeds
One, would love to see that issue of CR!
Two, having two speeds does come in handy, IMHO. Say this as one who owns three ironers two having multiple speeds (Pfaff and Frigidaire) and the lone Ironrite having one. The Pfaff actually has three speeds and is a treat to use.
Being able to use a slower roller speed is a bone when the textiles being ironed are heavy and or very damp (which linen requires). A slow speed is also good when doing multiple layers such as flatwork folded to fit the width of the roller. The decrease in speed not only allows for easier feeding but ensures all layers are properly ironed dry.
If this cannot be done you have to send things through the machine again and again, that wastes time.
